Open burning is permitted in Dallas Center, subject to some restrictions.Yard waste - grass, leaves, branches, twigs - will be picked up every Monday through November. Yard waste can be placed in any container other than your Waste Management container. Bundle sticks and branches in no more than 4' lengths, maximum weight 50 pounds or less per bundle. Yard waste includes grass, leaves, twigs, etc.
Yardwaste must be placed in yardwaste bags, paper grocery bags, cardboard boxes, or trash cans (not your 96 gal can). Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be picked up. Bundled brush (tied securely with twine or string) weighing less than 50 pounds and no longer than 4 feet in length may also be placed on the curb for collection.
Leaves, branches and other plant material grown or deposited upon your property can be burned between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm, from March 1 through April 30 and from October 1 through November 30 only, subject to the following:
Absolutely NO burning on the city streets.
Never leave a fire unattended.
Do not burn on breezy days.
Do not burn wet debris that causes excess smoke.
Fires must be extinguished by 8:00pm.
